Willunga House is surrounded by many wonderful diversions that can be savoured in moments or indulged in for days.

The historic township of Willunga is a delightful place to wander and explore. Every Saturday morning between 8:00am and 12:30pm, the renowned Farmers Market comes to life. Here, local producers sell fresh breads, pastries, nuts, cheeses, fruits, preserved meats, herbs, jams and many other delicious treats.

There are a number of excellent places in the township to enjoy a coffee and a light meal. There are restaurants like Fino – named as one of the top regional restaurants by Gourmet Traveller – and the fabulous Friday and Saturday night pizza experience that is ‘Russells'. It is best to book well ahead for all the restaurants – word of mouth is working very well!

Just down the road from Willunga is the McLaren Vale Wine region. Here, you'll find some of the best restaurants, wines and most picturesque wineries in the world. With over 70 cellar doors to choose from, the only problem you may encounter is choosing which ones you'd like to visit. (Don't worry; we can give you some suggestions).

Then, of course, Willunga is only 10 minutes from the beach. And what a beach it is! Port Willunga is a pristine stretch of coastline with golden beaches bounded by crystal clear water and imposing limestone cliffs. If you love the beach, this is a must. The sunsets are absolutely stunning, and dinner at the Star of Greece restaurant – situated on the cliff edge – is a great dining and visual experience.

And, as a little aside, the jetty at Port Willunga was built in 1850; the same year as Willunga House. It, too, is heritage-listed, but the years and the elements haven't been quite as kind to it as they have been to the house. Still, we love it, and its remnants form the basis of our logo.
